A BIG SURPRISE: NYC

Shannon here! I had to share a recent trip with you all! Jake decided to surprise me for my big birthday. I hate to say the actual number…but here it goes…the big 4-0. WOAH. I had mixed feelings about it all to be honest. I feel too young (mentally) to be that old! LOL

Jake had never been to NYC so it was a cool thing to do together. He grew up in Colorado/Alaska/Oregon and before started dating, he hadn’t been more east than Iowa. We are slowly seeing things he hasn’t before. It’s so much fun to take someone to somewhere new, especially to NYC, when they haven’t been there before. The crowds in Times Square, the lights, the views, the insane parking…all of it’s an experience!

In NYC, we got to hang out with some great friends, watch Chicago on Broadway (so good!), visited Chinatown, got soaked trying to get into a comedy show, visited Brooklyn (which I had never been to before and LOVE it!), eat a bunch of great food and see the holiday lights all over the city.

So thankful I got to see NYC again and experience it together! Here’s to a lot more new places to explore together. A great way to bring in another year.
