So, I am going to go out on a limb and speak what has been on my mind lately. I have been looking through some old images and new ones as well and noticed something. I am going to be honest. I love shooting details at weddings and all of my other shoots. I love the sparkle, the creativity that some couples + events have. I love trying to find new ways to show that creativity. I have a whole gallery dedicated to those detail shots. (shameless link to that gallery)
But guess what? Life is way too short and in the long run, those details don’t matter as much as the moments that you have. It’s the real stuff that matters. The tears that fall down your face during the speeches at a wedding. The big hugs and smiles that happen between moms/dads and their kids. The excitement that happens as the bride walks down the aisle. A father looking seeing his daughter dressed in white, the morning of the wedding. The bridal party laughing and having a fun time together, having shots and dancing all over the floor at the wedding. A dad holding his baby for the first time. Or being able to say goodbye to your grandparent, before it is their time to go.
In the end, those are the things that matter.
