DOLLY SODS + CANAAN MOUNTAIN WEDDING

We met Jesse + Andrew in the spring and had a wonderful time at their engagement session and got to know them a bit. We knew their wedding was going to be wonderful!

Jesse + Andrew chose to be married in the beautiful Canaan area near Timberline. When you step outside, it’s so peaceful and quiet. You can hear the birds chirping and there are so many deer in the area. It’s kind of magical.

They wanted an outdoor wedding with a masquerade, woodland theme and Ella & Company didn’t disappoint (all the florals and design were gorgeous!). They wanted to make sure we had time to hike at Dolly Sods. Dolly Sods is one of our favorite places so we jumped at the opportunity. It was beautiful at the top! They decided to do a “wedding walk” on the way to the ceremony. It was such a cool thing! I heard Jesse telling her parents that it was more like transitioning into her new life with Andrew. I love that thought!

I asked them how they knew they were meant for each other and this was Jesse’s response, “We knew we were meant for each other when we realized that we were both in love with each other and “work” really well together. Our relationship is easy because we are both sensitive to one another’s needs and genuinely understand and enjoy each other. We are best friends.” How sweet is that!?

How the proposal happened (from Jesse):
Andrew surprised me on December 30, 2017 at Longwood Gardens, a botanical garden in PA that we used to visit when we were first dating. He orchestrated a very elaborate surprise proposal at our favorite spot.
