SPRUCE KNOB + BLACKWATER FALLS PORTRAIT
The morning started between 3 and 4 am for all of us. Even though Spruce Knob feels close, it still takes about 1.5 hours to get to from our house. The sunrises are so worth getting up early. FOR REAL.
The roads were packed with sunrise onlookers. When made it to the top and the wind was crazy and fall was in the air. It was a tad chilly out and MaKenna braved the cold.
MaKenna plays volleyball at her high school. She listens to some Billie Eilish (our girls love her too) and Harry Styles, among lots of other music.
I (Shannon) have had the pleasure of watching her grow up into an amazing young lady. When I was in undergrad at Marshall, I got to hang out with her and her sister a lot. Since moving back east from Colorado, we have also been around her a lot more. She took care of our grandparents in their last few years so much (along with her sister) and I am so thankful for her heart.
She’s such a smart and a kind person. She is beautiful, inside and out and we can’t wait to see what she does in her future. MaK, we can’t wait to see what you do in your future! xoxo

And here’s a fun little video we did of our second day with MaKenna.
