DOLLY SODS + BLACKWATER FALLS INTIMATE WEDDING | EMILIE+TYLER

When we met Emilie+Tyler, we knew we were going to love their day. They are so kind and they love the outdoors, which we also love. Their intimate wedding was a beautiful day filled with lots of laughs and gorgeous views, with their loved ones by their sides.

We love that they shared how the proposal happened and it’s so real (not everything was perfect on the day, but it all worked out still). “It was our anniversary and I had a sh** day to be honest. Everything went wrong that day and wrestling my computer cord from behind the couch was the last straw. I turned around, 2.3 seconds away from a meltdown and Tyler was kneeling with the box in the living room with Gianna by his side, both of them beaming with excitement.”

We began at their cabin in the woods in Canaan Valley. It was the perfect setting for getting ready and dinner later on. The house is super close to Dolly Sods too, which always makes a perfect backdrop for photos so we ended up doing a first look at the top. We headed to Blackwater Falls for the ceremony. It was absolutely perfect and so sweet.

There were lots of really cool details; flowers were brought by some friends, Emilie made her own bouquet (with wood flowers that she dyed) and embroidered her Keds with their wedding date, they had flower petals thrown (from flowers Tyler had given to Emilie over the years), they brought wine they had gotten over the years for others to enjoy. They really thought of the sweetest little things to make the day amazing.

Their most valuable piece of advice for other couples is: “Always be yourself, be open-minded and truthful with one another. Focus on the friendship and never stop making each other laugh.”

After the ceremony, we adventured a bit around Blackwater Falls State Park and in Canaan for some photos before having an amazing dinner and campfire with everyone. It was the perfect way to end the day. Congrats you two! We’re so happy for you two (+ Gianna+Blu of course)!
