SNOWY BLACKWATER FALLS ELOPEMENT | ANDREA+PATRICK
Andrea and Patrick’s traveled from Mississippi to elope in Blackwater Falls. We learned that they met through work, which is pretty cool! They both have pretty laid back personalities too, which totally fits with us perfectly.
They wanted a beautiful place to be married, and the day definitely didn’t disappoint. It was super icy out so we had to change plans from Dolly Sods to Blackwater Falls the night before. It was still crazy icy out at the overlook, but it all worked out amazingly and was an beautiful day.
How the proposal happened:
“I pictured the proposal happening in New Orleans, and he wanted to propose during a Grateful Dead show at Wrigley Field this summer. Due to Covid, we were not able to do any of that. So, we had a very simple proposal at his house followed by an evening at a friend’s (socially distanced) music venue grand opening for a show by one of our favorite local artists.”
What makes them work:
“Overall, we both have laidback personalities, but we also are direct and decisive people. We knew early on that we have a lot in common, including being huge music and sports fans, not to mention our work lives crossed paths, too. Once we learned personalities after already bonding so well with our interests, we knew that we made the perfect team. A “team” approach to our relationship is what makes us work.”
We started when it was still dark out and Andrea was getting her hair and makeup done with Updos for I Dos. The timing made it perfect for getting out to the overlook for the ceremony time. We had to hike a little longer than we thought originally, because they closed the road from all the ice. The walk/hike out there was so fun. (if you have never hiked in the dark, you have to try it one day!)
We adventured all over Blackwater Falls and had an awesome time with Andrea+Patrick! The snow falling made it a perfect day to remember. Cold, but still amazing. It was a wonderful day filled with lots of laughs and snuggles. We are so happy for you two!
